Religion

As it most likely doesn't come as a shock to most, Malaysia's official religion is Islam, which is the second-largest religion in the world with 1.9 billion followers. Islam is the belief that Muhammad is the messenger of God (Allah). Muslims have 6 main beliefs. The first one is the belief in Allah as the one and only god. Second is the belief in angels, third is the belief in the holy books, then belief in the prophets. Lastly comes the belief in the day of judgment (the day in which every human being will be assessed to decide whether they go to heaven or hell) and the belief in Predestination (that Allah has knowledge of all that will happen).

In Malaysia, about 3/5's of the population is Muslim. As of 2013, there were approximately 19.5 million Muslims in Malaysia, or 61.3% of the population. First introduced to Malaysia by traders from Arabia and China, Islam grew quickly and became established in Malaysia in the 15th century.
